This is an introductory course on the VLSI technology. The topics covered in the course comprise MOSFETs theory and their characteristics, CMOS process technology and design rules, Physical layout and stick diagram, CMOS inverter characteristics, power dissipation in ICs, pass transistor logic, static logic gates, logical effort and delay estimation of logic gates, logical effort for compound gates, input ordering delay effect, skewed gates, delay minimization techniques, ratioed logic, transmission gate circuits, dynamic logic circuits, domino logic, clocking strategies, physical design automation, VLSI testing.
